The wellspring of the Kitsap Sun’s menu of comprehensive guides is The West Sound Guide.  Publishing anually for over 20 years, the West Sound Guide is a vital community resource of information about recreation, shopping, events, local businesses, arts, sports, education, civic groups, local services, transportation services, entertainment and much more.  Its focus on year ’round activities of places to go and things to do make it perfect for visitors, guests, newcomers and existing residents of the Kitsap Peninsula. The publishing model of this annual resource guide includes initial distribution on to subscribers of Kitsap Sun in April.  Distribution occurs year ’round through western Washington chambers of commerce, real estate offices, Naval Base Kitsap, visitor centers, hotels, businesses and numerous other locations throughout the West Sound.  Next edition, April, 2014.   

HLiving West Sound Guide to Healthy Living

The annual West Sound Guide to Healthy Living features content on emerging healthcare and fitness trends, profiles of local residents or professionals, and lists of resources to help consumers find the best the Kitsap Peninsula has to offer.  Among topics are nutritious cooking, fitness, trends in medicine, healing and paths toward improving physical well-being.  Initial distribution is made to all readers of the Kitsap Sun in late September, with thousands of additional copies of the guide distributed free throughout the year at doctors’ offices, pharmacies, health care providers, health fairs and select community events.  Next edition, September, 2014.  For further details, consult your Kitsap Sun Account Manager, call 360-792-9210 or e-mail ad-support@kitsapsun.com.

WSDining West Sound Guide to Dining

Highly popular as a handy guide to local dining options, the annual West Sound Guide to Dining shines a bright light on a subject near and dear to anyone who may ever experience an appetite.   The guide introduces its eager audience to unique dining experiences on the Kitsap Peninsula.  It also includes articles on Kitsap-area dining trends and restaurant news of note. Lending function to its design and retention by its readers, it carries detailed listings of many restaurants by area and cuisine.  The guide is published each September, with distribution to all readers of the Kitsap Sun and the Naval Base Kitsap edition of the Northwest Navy Life.  Next edition, September, 2014.

Outdoors white icon West Sound Guide to the Outdoors

The quarterly West Sound Guide to the Outdoors targets recreational opportunities in our nearby trails, mountains and water ways, specifically targeting the Kitsap and Olympic peninsulas.  A timely theme will vary with the season, from fishing and hunting to skiing or boating.  The next edition publishes on June 6, 2014. Copies of the guide are delivered through the Kitsap Sun and the weekly community publications Gig Harbor Life, Bainbridge Islander and Mason County Life. The balance of copies will distributed for three months through area chambers of commerce, real estate offices, military bases, visitor centers and numerous other select locations throughout western Puget Sound.  Supplemental distribution is made to points of interest visited by outdoors enthusiasts–Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson, Clallam and Island counties.
